But overall I tend to prefer the shorter chapters/more updates scheme to the longer chapters/less updates one.

If you're almost done the first major scene, I'd say wait. Personally, I'd like to read something like that in its entirely instead of in broken and possibly awkward pieces.

(Anonymous) 2013-08-18 12:18 am (UTC)(link)A whole world of "nope" to that one. Do you really not see that organizing your story and where you put your scene and chapter breaks is just as important as the creative aspects? Seriously.
Do what you want, obviously, but you did ask for opinions. My opinion is that, if you're just churning out chapters because you don't want fandom to forget you, your story might end up a hot, unorganized mess.
