Seeeeconding. (My personal favourites involve the main character dying and coming back as a ghost/transforming into something non-human, and having to deal with that. Especially if the process is painful.)

AYRT: I love ghost!fic. I haven't read much transformation stuff, but it sounds like it'd be pretty awesome, if I hit on the right fics (good horror-romance, maybe?). Though, to a certain degree, wing!fic can tie into that (though I tend to prefer the actual supernatural side - for example, angels - rather than wing-growth on humans fiction).

Ghostfic is so cool. I've read a couple of Sherlock and ACD canon works with the trope; both the ones where the character is transformed and the ones where they are forced to face a supernatural being are lovely. Bonus point if the story can actually scare me. I guess it has something to do with my love for children's literature, IDK. Everything must be colourful and intense and OTT and frightening as hell
