Yeah, Sims 2 plays fine on my computer, but this laptop is only a year old, so it meets the minimum requirements for Sims 3.

What are some of the mods you've found that you loved?

Oh, I am playing on a desktop, so I more than pass the minimum requirements. I'm saying that the minimum requirements aren't accurate. They're enough for you to play, but might not be enough for you to play. (Granted, I have so many families in my game, as I made all of my fandom favorites and they all spawned and stuff, so it is a lot for my poor computer to handle. I should probably try a smaller neighborhood. Oh, and in answer to your question to the other person, yes, the other sims age. And they have relationships with each other and have kids and all of that stuff instead of remaining static.)

As fingalsanteater said, I love NRAAS. (Here is more in-depth on a few of them.) I have...
- Career (but mostly because I wanted two of my fandom sims to have a psychology career, not for "normal" gameplay)
- Dreamer (because I like getting more wish options, as some of them are very long term)
- Error Trap (not really for gameplay, but for handling glitches)
- Master Controller (OMG, this was my first and I cannot imagine ever living without it)
- Mover (not essential, just a nice little perk)
- Overwatch (I just got this one, to try to clean my game up, and it seems to be working. Apparently there are a lot of abandoned cars)
- Retuner (this is for a few things, like setting pregnancy length in my non-active sims)
- Story Progression (I like NRAAS's story progression so much more than EA's. I love getting the updates about what my other sims in the neighborhood are doing. I don't know that I'd care as much if I was using the premade characters / hadn't entirely created my neighborhood. Although it is less glitchy, even then.)
- Traveler (only really important if you get the World Adventures expansion. I like what it tweaks. I also like the option of using other worlds for vacation destinations, not just the WA worlds.)
- Woohooer (Another mod I couldn't live without. I like the tweaking on relationships. I also like the "oops" pregnancy setting.)

I also have a couple of non-NRAAS mods. Like one that eliminates zombies from spawning (although I think I figured out how to do that via the NRAAS retuner mod, so that one isn't as crucial) and one that allows breastfeeding. There are so many mods out there, depending on what you want.

The three I most couldn't do without (and the three that made me love the game) are the Master Controller, Story Progression, and Woohooer. But I would be hard pressed to do without pretty much any of them.

As far as understanding minimum requirements, I understand. My old computer had the minimum requirements for Sims 2, but you spent half of the time waiting for it to load.

Thanks for the list of suggestions! I have a feeling I'm going to adjust to the game first before going into any of the expansions. Definitely looking forward to it (it's a birthday gift so I have to wait until Thursday to play it)

I would definitely recommend playing with the base game before going into the expansions. I still have only added World Adventures, Supernatural, and Late Night (despite owning more) and even then I haven't fully played with the aspects of any of them, despite having played the game for a long time. I'm too interested in the base game still.

Have fun! :D
