Re: The Last Of Us (impressions as I near the end)

Heeeeeeh. I dunno, it sounds like grasping at straws. Tess dies, sure, but she's a certifiable badass beforehand, and she doesn't die in a small fashion.

Sarah died because if the soldier had shot, say, Tommy, it wouldn't have had the same emotional impact. It had to be a child, and there's something very innocent and soul-tugging about the father/daughter dynamic (that could just be me, though).

I'm also glad it was "Joel" and not "Joelette" because then the main character would be expected to have some kind of motherly instinct toward a child and ugh that is so annoying. I thought it gave a lot more to the story to have it be an old grumpy cold man who eventually dropped his guard.

Seriously, people just need something to bitch about. I thought Last of Us was fun and I'm still mulling over the ending. That right there is good. It was so good, I don't want a sequel. That's how good it was. Honest to God I am not being sarcastic.

AYRT

Yeah, I'm not seeing what any of the fuss is about. Seems like a gorgeous, well-written game in many ways, and I'm excited to play it at some point.
