Sometimes I'll play a game on normal then start over on hard, but rarely do I complete it; usually my interest wanes no matter my love for the game and I'll find something else to do; by the time I come back to the game I don't feel comfortable playing on hard so I just start over and (depending on the game) lose my progress. :(
But really, as long as you're enjoying yourself, that's fine. I wouldn't mind a 'never die' option either; in some cases I think it could be fun.

(Anonymous) 2013-08-18 09:34 pm (UTC)(link)I know some games unlock certain things in hard mode that you can't do in normal but I can live without it. Or if it's a secret cut scene I'll just youtube it. No regrets.
Like you said as long as you're having fun it's all good. I've had friends stress over games and I just don't understand it, a little gamer rage is fine but games should ultimately be fun.

Yea, me too. There are certain games I'm pretty sure I could complete on hard if I put in the effort, but either I get distracted by something else or frustrated and don't bother to come back to them. Uncharted 2 on hard (not even the hardest difficulty, just hard) made me want to KILL things, and there was this helicopter section that was absolutely ridiculous and would kill you in no time and nope. Nopeeeee.
Or if it's a secret cut scene I'll just youtube it. No regrets.
Yea, that's usually what I do too. As long as I see it I don't feel particularly worried about not having 'earned' it.

3 is actually one of my favorite Uncharted games but the shipyard (combat, I actually like everything else) is just awful. Even on normal it feels impossible at times. I might've tried that on hard, I don't remember, but I know that specific section was one of the hardest I've played in a game in years.

(Anonymous) 2013-08-19 02:40 am (UTC)(link)I love 3. It had more puzzles which was nice, it was gorgeous, and the best of the series imo. But that goddamn ship.... Ugh. At least for me it was harder than the weird shit at the end of the first 2 games.
