I've had this happen to me several times, though it wasn't gifts. I had a reviewer who would leave reviews and ask for a story. I didn't mind it since it was my OTP. But as time went on and the requests still came, the comments stopped and the thank yous completely stopped as well.

I got really frustrated because I would try my hardest to write and get over writers block. But when someone requests a story and I fulfill it, at least an acknowledgement would be nice.

And nearly a year without hearing from this reviewer, they pop up once more and with a request. This is depressing :(

There was someone like this in my fandom. They got quite well known and I think they were mentioned on fanficrants at some point. I'm pretty sure most people just ended up blocking them. I know I did.
