I'm a bit wary about anything to do with video games and anime, nowadays, since I started to really hate some of the culture that goes along with it.

But if they're funny, and not douchebags, I mght give it a try.

I completely understand where you're coming from. I feel like they mostly either avoid the kind of cultural stuff you're talking about, or they tend to actively mock it, because it's stupid. But I haven't listened to all their shows and there might be some douchy stuff especially in some of the earlier episodes, IDK. Give it a try, if you feel like it.

oh man i'm so glad there's somebody else who gets it.

i used to be a massive weaboo when i was 14 and most of my friends were gamer guys. (i still enjoy a lot of the old anime they introduced me to.)

but a lot of that stuff just makes me cringe, now that i've become aware of some of the unpleasant attitudes & people within the subculture.
like the whole "fake nerd girls", and "friendzone" and bronies and cosplayers getting stalked, and tinhatters asking inappropriate questions at cons.

it's kind of ruined fandom for me, tbh. :/
