If I were to advertise a website in the hopes of getting some membership, where would it go? It's not an event, so I didn't think it would go in the advertising post, but I'm not sure if it's okay in general comments either. It's not my website, and it's not new; it was active years ago but has dried up almost completely, so I was hoping to find new members, and this seemed like as good a place as any to start...where would I post such a thing?

I'm deleting them because they're responses to a deleted post, but I'd probably have asked you to move it so it collapsed, too - same with any image posts that lead to scrolling etc. (Though I mean, I wouldn't have asked so, uh, vehemently or anything)

I really don't see what the problem was. It wasn't that long, I've posted long reviews before with no complaints (I think the Dishonored review might actually have been longer!) and I didn't use images.

I can understand if it was more than a couple of pagedown's worth, but my review barely fills the screen. Honestly I think the only difference between now and last year when I posted those long reviews of Dishonored and Spec Ops is my hatedom is back.

Not everybody has the same size screen. It was a couple pagedowns for me.

I mean, it didn't bother me especially, and I have no dog in this fight, I just thought that should be pointed out.

Well, that'd depend on how wide your window/monitor is! And most things that fill an entire screen would be asked to be collapsed, whether it's a textblock or lots of images, etc.

No, it's always been. Ask noodlyguy, I told him to collapse his movie threads months and months back, and since then they always have been. (ETA: Cuteanimalpics and jolty, too.)

Well, how about 'about 600px in height'? That's the same standard we have for images. Give or take ~100 considering it's text.

(I mean, of course I'm not going to take a ruler and start measuring every text post. But when people have to hit page down more than once, it's pretty obviously scrolly.)
