Do you know him in real life? I find it hard to tell if people are really creeps or if it's part of a public persona.

(Anonymous) 2013-08-19 11:11 pm (UTC)(link)
Didn't the guy call his fourteen year old daughter a whole lot of fighting words?

(Anonymous) 2013-08-19 11:18 pm (UTC)(link)
yep.

I wonder what his daughter did?

(Anonymous) 2013-08-19 11:42 pm (UTC)(link)
She didn't pick up her phone during her scheduled contact with him. There was an extremely bitter divorce and custody battle, so he's taking out his frustration with the arrangement and the divorce on her.
But I also wonder about whoever leaked it to the press...

That does sound very dickish. Not necessarily creepy, just petty, vengeful and generally assholish.

UGH. It makes me sick when people put their kids in the middle of their horrible breakups. He's obviously got a nasty bone to pick with her mom and he's making her the object of that frustration. What a dick.

(Anonymous) 2013-08-20 03:38 am (UTC)(link)
He's said some pretty questionable things in the past, and his homophobic rants on twitter were just...ugh. That doesn't really make him a "creepy" though, just an asshole.

(Anonymous) 2013-08-19 11:13 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah, he strikes me as a creeper as well.

(Anonymous) 2013-08-19 11:16 pm (UTC)(link)
He seems like an asshole but he also is a really talented actor, and yeah, the Donaghy character is great and weirdly likable

[Picture is the actor Alec Baldwin playing Jack Donaghy from the TV show "30 Rock". He is a man with light skin, short brown hair gelled back with some graying hairs on the sides. He is wearing a dark blue suit with a white shirt and a blue tie with diagonal stripes. He is smiling as he stands and has his hands shoved into the pockets of his pants or trousers.]

I think Alec Baldwin is a creep in real life. But I found him oddly adorable in 30 Rock.

No matter what he does or does not do, he supports Wegman's and does commercials for them. That makes him awesome in my mind.

And if you don't know what Wegman's is...I feel bad for you.

(Anonymous) 2013-08-20 01:11 am (UTC)(link)
I don't get it. Google says it's a family-owned market chain. Why is it a good thing that it is supported by Baldwin? What does it do?

It is the fact that it's an awesome grocery store -- And I've been to many different grocery stores (including Trader Joe's and Fresh Mart) and I like Wegman's better.

People who move out of the parts of NY and PA that have Wegman's -like myself- tend to miss it.

And it's awesome that Baldwin does Wegman's ads, because he's a locally grown guy -- Those Baldwins are from NY. Even though he doesn't live here any longer, he was willing to make a commercial for them, because his mom loves shopping there. I think that's pretty cool, considering it's not a national supermarket chain.

DA

I really don't see how getting paid to appear in advertisements for a company, any company, overrides an actor's actions. He's done a lot of creepy stuff that's been leaked to the press and that he admits to or can't deny because it was filmed. Getting paid to do some commercials doesn't make him a good guy.

(Anonymous) 2013-08-20 05:05 am (UTC)(link)
good vs bad actions are not a zero-sum game of "this is a good/bad person", you know

people who are shitty in one area can be good in another, and viceversa

(Anonymous) 2013-08-20 05:34 am (UTC)(link)
Not on the internet, apparently. One slip from perfection is all it takes for haters.

(Anonymous) 2013-08-20 12:50 am (UTC)(link)
That's because Jack Donaghy is (generally, some episodes miss the mark) a sweet, tender, loyal dork while Alec Baldwin is a famous actor with strange priorities.

I think this is a pretty popular opinion.

He can't be worse than than his creepy religious brother, didnt he say he'd rather have his daughter die than her stop being a christian?

(Anonymous) 2013-08-20 03:39 am (UTC)(link)
Amen to that. Alec Baldwin isn't a saint, but he's one of the better Baldwins.

He's so sexy if I ignore his personality...

(Anonymous) 2013-08-20 03:11 am (UTC)(link)
Acting!

It's his job to be someone else when on the show. The fact that this differs from his regular personality just indicates that he's good at his job.
