It's been announced today that Lee Thompson Young (Detective Frost) has died of an apparent suicide. Very sad news :(

Has anyone come out and said why?

I haven't seen anything yet, but since it's so recent I think it will probably be a couple of days before we hear something about his motives

Come off it. There's often speculation or family members who speak out about personal problems the person had when a celebrity commits suicide. There aren't often easy answers but there are many times well founded theories which I think was all the person you replied to was wanting

Speaking as someone with a sibling who's attempted suicide more than once, come ON, nonny. Nobody's suggesting there's an easy answer, mekkio's just asking if there's been more information. There's no need to start drama just for the sake of having drama. No reason at all.

That's so sad. He was so young.

I was pretty shocked and sad when I heard the news. He's one of those actors that I never really followed but always noticed. I was so happy to see him on Rizzoli & Isles and always thought he was good back on Jett Jackson - something more than the regular Disney/Nickelodeon kids. Just, idk, one of those people that is kind of a "that guy" that I was always happy to see in something.

Me too. I didn't follow his career closely, but it was always delightful to see him on tv. 29 is so incredibly young. I feel terrible for everyone who knew and loved him.

I felt the same way. I was very sad when I heard the news. :(

That's awful. The way he played Frost made him one of the most dorable characters in a show with serious adorable-competition. His poor family.

I heard about that today :(

He also played Jett Jackson as a kid. This news really sucks. :/ I hope they find out it wasn't actually a suicide. I mean, I know he'll still be dead, but he always seemed like such a great guy it kind of sucks thinking of him struggling with the kind of issues and depression that make someone think suicide is their only solution to escape.

Oh my god. He was so delightful on R&I, handsome and low-key and fun to watch. Damn. RIP, man.
