I went to the doctor after I skipped four months and they ran a bunch of hormone tests. The results came back normal so they said I had one of two options, either I could wait and see if I got it or they could give me a pill to induce it (basically birth control without the birth control part?) I went away for study abroad and ended up getting it.

Their basic reasoning for it was stress levels and a change in diet from my college diet to coming home and eating at home (I had better eating habits in college)

OP here: See I don't necessarily want to be poked and prodded and given hormones. If I'm pregnant, I want to know, but if my period just stopped but there's no serious side effect to my health, I don't really feel I need treatment.

I don't mean it was a constant testing and poking and prodding. They just needed to draw some blood and then when they sent it to be tested, they had to check off specific tests. I went once to describe my issue and then went back to talk about the results.

Again, mine was four months of no period and basically the doctor wanted to make sure there was no other hormonal imbalance.
