Now that you mention it, I agree!

(Aha, I can't stop staring at his face whenever he's on-screen. The whole... smooth-ness of the make-up/prosthetics really fascinates me.

[Picture is Odo, as portrayed by the actor René Auberjonois, from the TV show "Star Trek: Deep Space Nine". He is a human-looking creature with no eyebrows and a nose and ears that are not very separated from the rest of his face, but otherwise looks very human. He has light, somewhat rosy skin, lips the same color as the rest of his skin, slicked back short blond hair and blue eyes. He is wearing a brown shirt and a light brown vest or jacket over that.]

I think Odo has the most beautiful eyes I have ever seen on anyone in Trek. I love how expressive they are, too!

In the last picture, his eyes look so sad an haunted :(

I know which eps those pics are from and that must mean I'm a supergeek or something.

1) He's relieved that the first kiss he gave the woman he loves didn't end in rejection.

2) He's PISSED OFF at the scientist who 'raised him' because they're disagreeing on how to take care of a baby Changeling.

3) He's getting news that the baby being argued about is going to die.

I love Odo. More on him here http://en.memory-alpha.org/wiki/Odo

Wow. I love you, supergeek anon. Be my Star Trek friend?

:( Poor Odo.

You're an awesome supergeek!

I've only seen bits and parts of DS9 over the years, but I always liked Odo. I'm waiting for non-American Netflix to get it so I can watch it.

Thanks for the info!

Ah, props to you anon, this is a good post. I've only caught the odd episode of DS9 but I'm pretty sure Odo's going to be my fave.

Holy CRIPES, anon. Now I'm both tempted to re-watch these episodes to witness the glory (also, the one with feral changling Odo is one of my favs anyway) and to proclaim you rightful ruler.

I suppose if you're acting through that many layers of makeup, you have to learn to be pretty expressive with what isn't covered.

It has been said somewhere that Rene Auberjonois(Odo) can say with his eyes what normally took another actor several pages of dialogue. If that's not talent I don't know what is.

Srsly he makes a tiny movement with his face and you know Odo is horrendously sad, or he goes "Humph!" and folds his arms and you know he's pissed. He smiles too, but not often.

He describes the makeup as feeling like he constantly has a cold.

I loved Odo so much! He and Garak are my favourite Trek characters of all time.

One of his lovers actually told him he had "bedroom eyes," so you're not alone, OP. It's canon.
