Re: Read any good books lately?
(Anonymous) 2013-08-21 11:48 pm (UTC)(link)(It seems like there's always the brooding alpha who looks like a Hollywood A-Lister but can build her own motor-bikes while singing arias to orphans. Alas, she is unhappy because of nonspecific angst that might involve parents, or an ex, or both. But it's okay - she's going to fall for our plucky questioning femme. Plucky femme may be prone to triggering the reader's secondhand embarrassment squick, but is super feisty and so gorgeous that the alpha will probably have to save her from over-zealous male/butch attention. Then alpha'll get even more broody and cryptic when her collection of campy friends start cheerleading for the two of them because they've nothing better to do with their lives.)
I have in life stumbled across a few wonderful lesbian romances hidden in books that never mentioned them on the blurb. But LGBT rec lists and blogs are not winning for me, alas.
