(Anonymous) 2013-08-22 04:00 am (UTC)(link)Just want to put out there - since I both know people who regularly go into N.O. for non-drink/party stuff, and have family there - there *are* parts that aren't so effected by the frat boy culture. They aren't terribly obvious, and N.O. does have a lot of crime problems [at least, that's what they've all said - I haven't really been there recently enough to say].
I don't know how much this will really help you any but...there are still a lot parts that are effected by what happened with Katrina. How much and where you'd need to look up, but last I heard there were still entire areas that hadn't been rebuilt.
