Re: A magnificent work of art
okay stopping now.)
I'm not sure who Nathan is actually. Is it the fanon character? (Had to google it.)
Nope, wouldn't mind at all. Hope you still see this! <3Re: A magnificent work of art
(Anonymous) 2013-08-24 01:10 am (UTC)(link)HEY, CONNOR AND REVERE CAN RIDE WHENEVER THEY WANT [even if it involves horses...and I think I'll leave that thought there. >>;;]
Pfff, sorry. I was reading something earlier with a character named Nathan - I meant Connor's father. BUT NATHAN HALE WORKS TOO, Y/Y?
Going to go friend you now <3Re: A magnificent work of art
Ooo, Haytham! You have no idea how disappointing I found AC3 fandom when I realized it was all Haytham/Connor. I won't judge people for shipping it, but...man, I wanted other things. :(
Kay! Thank you for showing an interest!Re: A magnificent work of art
Yeah...I was kinda sad when I saw that, particularly because the history nerd in me was all excited for the awesome time period to explore, and even if they wanted to focus on ships the way the protestants handled homosexual relationships [which wasn't *actually* how everyone assumes, oddly enough] would make for some interesting set ups...but no. ;A;
-coughs- Sorry for the ramble. ^^;;
Thank you for letting me!Re: A magnificent work of art
Can't say I'm a history nerd, but one of my favorite things about AC is running around in the different time periods and meeting all the historical figures. It's a compelling environment!

Hey, I'm sure someone would be interested. If nothing else it sounds like something I would give a shot.
No need to apologize for AC ramble; I don't get to talk about this series nearly enough.
Re: A magnificent work of art
Well...it basically boils down to 'not practicing what they preached'. They *said* it was immoral, and worthy of the death penalty. However, in practice, they only gave that penalty once [to a man who, iirc, also did a bunch of other nasty things including rape], and generally was considered a part of the ~college experience~. If you were caught, as often as not, you'd be given a similar/the same punishment as a straight couple that was having unmarried sex, and that was only if someone actually pressed charges which was pretty rare. [19 cases in the entirety of Mass.' colonial history.]
tl;dr: They didn't practice what they preached, and tended to consider it part of the college experience for guys, when they bothered to stop ignoring it.
So, given how prominent some of the figures were, it could actually lead to some really interesting situations for various pairings, you know?
Oh, thank goodness! I tend to ramble, and I know that can get annoying. ^^;;

Re: A magnificent work of art
Honestly, I'm about to start a semester with two classes that are going to have a ton of projects, so I doubt I'm going to have the time to write anything until that's over. However, even if I was going to have the time, I wouldn't really mind if others wanted to write it as well, if you were interested. :)
