So, fucked up movie rec, gals and guys....

What are some movies that make you think: "what the actual fuck did I just watch", but are possibly still worth the watch for the hell of it.

My contribution for the list would be Santa Sangre. It's about a circus kid who sees his dad chop off his mother's arms, then later, as an adult, becomes "his mother's arms" in a really messed up symbiotic relationship.

I've seen and enjoyed that one thoroughly!

Mulholland Drive.

I don't know how to give a synopsis of this film. I'm not sure it's possible.

But there's a woman, and there are shady things happening on her road, and there's a MYSTERY, and there's a homeless man beside a shop with a blue box and the blue box has little people in it, but it can also suck you into it and cause...things. And Naomi Watts is in love with the woman that has shady things happening to her, so she imagines a world where they are together. But in reality, the woman is bored with her and trying to pull away.

Love this film.

Have you seen Lost Highway? I haven't. Trying to decide if it's worth watching.

Wild Zero. Wikipedia describes it as a " Japanese "Jet rock 'n' roll" zombie horror comedy cult classic". It's weird, but amusing.

Santa Claus, from 1959. Santa versus a low-level demon from Hell, who can't eat ice cream because it interferes with his digestion. For obvious reasons, it's an MST3K episode. Wikipedia. A lot of MST3K qualifies, really.

Reefer Madness, both the 30s propaganda and the musical parody.

If you can find it, The Amazing Bulk (Youtube link) is one of the most wtf movies I've ever seen.

Rocky Horror Picture Show, although apparently it actually makes more sense if you listen to the lyrics. I loved it, but I had no idea.

Then there was this 80's or 90's movie called Summer School or something, about some sarcastic guy who teaches summer school and Helps Improve Lives. It was on Hulu so I had no reason to keep watching except that it was so bad and convoluted, I could not stop myself.

Uh, maybe Killer Klowns from Outer Space. It definitely falls under WTF? but not sure it's actually worth watching.

I'd say it's worth it for the cute lil popcorns.

The general consensus is that it's a good movie, but what the fuck.

MY dad loves this kind of shit, hold on....

Dark star. IT was like a college kids' attempt to make a sci-fi movie, and its villian was like some beach ball spraypainted back, and it was just utterly pointless.

Buckaroo Banzai: Adventurer/surgeon/rock musician Buckaroo Banzai and his band of men, the Hong Kong Cavaliers, take on evil alien invaders from the 8th dimension.

I just watched Snowpiercer and damn. I knew it wasn't gonna be just a train movie, but it was deeper and more vicious and more marxist than I was at all expecting, and the ending, wtf. Really well-made movie though...I hope they don't cut it down too much for the 'dumb audience' in America, wtf distribution company??

I love Santa Sangre!

The Vagrant, starring Bill Paxton, is hilariously bizarre and dark (and his character is just as confused as the audience is over everything that's happening to him).

Though right now, just from having a peek at my film collection, I'd have to say They Call Her One Eye, Cannibal Holocaust, and anything from the Pinky Violence film collection.

OLDBOY, damn. It's actually an intriguing mystery/action movie until the last 3/4 and then shit goes off the rails. I cracked up when I saw they were doing an American adaptation. Oh Josh Brolin! D:

Okay, so I really enjoyed this movie, but 'La Planète sauvage' (Fantastic Planet in English). Weird, WEIRD animated French film from 1973 featuring a humans-as-pets sort of thing in an alien world. Um. I've truly never seen anything like it.

The Doom Generation, a "heterosexual movie" by Gregg Araki. Plenty of intentionally absurd ultra-violence and softcore that veers from ironic to horrifically dark at the very end.

Also Schoolboy Crush, a Japanese film that tricks you into thinking it's a lighthearted boy's love comedy full of amusing hijinks. It's not. It's really, really not.
