You're correct. My eyes basically glaze over any SPN shipping secret these days because I know that's what it'll say (or the opposite "OMG I'M NOT COOL WITH THIS" yeah yeah you and a ton of others, no1curr)

Seconding this question? Unless it's about the (often true) stereotype of this fandom being crazy and stalkery. But I'm not sure why making secrets would atone for any of that.

Yes, what I meant to say was that some people feel bad about being a part of stereotypically stalkery/obsessed fandoms (such as Sherlock and SPN). Making these secrets is like saying "we aren't all like that, there are good SPN fans out there". The OP has kind of formulated it already: "Destiel shippers are rude, entitled, and inconsiderate. Please stop embarrassing the rest of us".

Okay, I kind of get what you mean now and I agree. People do feel/act that way. It's just a shame because there's a reason destiel is so popular, and TPTB know that even if they don't ship it.

Personally, I'd write something like this as a secret, because most of my real life peeps don't know that I watch SPN. The show has its good parts, but the fandom, man, the fucking fandom. I once told my rl friend about Tumblr and she instantly commented on how Tumblr users/fandom peeps are batshit crazy and asked why the hell am I on that site. Needless to say, I haven't mentioned Tumblr since.

Some people are so set on their ships, that they would not see good sense if it smacked them on the face. Many of my preferred Supernatural ships will never become canon in a way that I would like, but you don't see me going on about it.

I certainly don't go out of my way to go to every Supernatural convention to ask about my make believe ship and outright harass the actors about it, either. And! I certainly don't get all bent out of shape and call the actors "homophobic," just because they do not want to discuss my sexual fantasies for their character.

Destiel shippers are rude, entitled, and inconsiderate. Please stop embarrassing the rest of us.

I tried reading this and I just couldn't process the font/colour over that background and I just felt so shitty and dumb and then I was like 'eh I'll just read transcript_anon's version!' and felt better
