Lately, my dash is getting spammed with posts like "If this gets 50,000 notes my conservative mom will believe that biromantic asexuality is a thing and accept me and my girlfriend" or "If this gets 100,000 notes my dad will let me wear my homestuck cosplay to school everyday." And they get a bunch of notes but you know it's not really going to work. Is anyone else annoyed by these?

Yes. Because either it's fake/trolling or it's just stupid parenting. The whole thing annoys me and is dumb. The end.

Yeah, I just put myself in their parents' shoes and try to picture how I would react if my kid came to me with "50,000 people on this random website THINK YOU'RE WRONG AND SHOULD DO WHAT I WANT!!!" Like, I feel for kids who are LGBT and are looking for acceptance, and in a way I can see that getting that kind of support from any community might help, but I feel like most parents would just be concerned about 50,000 strangers knowing that kind of details about their child's life and ban them from tumblr.

I usually just scroll past those when I see them, though there was one that showed up on my dash with a picture of Zuko that said something like "If this gets 50,000 notes my father said he'll restore my honor." That one was good.

Definitely. I mean, why would reblogging some (in a lot of cases badly researched or just plain made up) thing make you a good person? There isn'T actually any magical thing that happens when you reblog something. I won't be guilt-tripped into silly things like this, fuck you very much.
