TBH, I started out as a Dean!girl, but still liked Sammy plenty, then when I rewatched the series with a friend bc she wanted to know (actually you don't need the reasons), I found myself becoming more sympathetic to Sam, as I had done a lot of growing up myself, and therefore understood his character a little more.

Blah blah blah, TL;DR: yes it is possible to like both. They both have their pluses and minuses, and they're wrapped in some pretty attractive packaging. ;)
