Oh, no no, you didn't come across like that, it's just something I hear a lot - no need to be afraid, it's a gentle breed/the dog's so small/the breed just has a bad reputation/etc. Some people get that all that doesn't matter to me, but some aren't as understanding. (You'd be surprised how many people make sympathetic noises when you're scared of big breeds, but laugh at you when the dog in question is less than knee high.)
