Why was it ever a thing? It makes no sense, because I'm pretty sure the quickest way to earn either Sam or Dean's eternal dislike or be murdered in your sleep is to hate on their brother.

I could be wrong, maybe I'm severely overestimating the percentage of sane people in this fandom, but since Sam and Dean are FICTIONAL characters, I don't think many people actually worry about pissing them off.

Well, obviously. But my understanding of the Dean/Sam!Girl phenomenon is that they are super fond of one character to the point of believing they could do no wrong? (I don't hang around the fandom very often, could be wildly mistaken) So why not focus on that facet of the character? I fixate on trying to understand the weirdest things.
