Five years ago I would have rolled my eyes and said, "Oh, get over yourself. No one is going to send you any death threats over a stupid dress." But now? I believe it. Jesus, what is wrong with people these days?

Yeah on second read, I can imagine OP posting pics of her dress on Tumblr to show to people, and the SJW coming down on her hard about it.

Well, don't post on tumblr then. That's asking for it. No need for your wedding album to be on there.

(Anonymous) 2013-08-26 11:28 pm (UTC)(link)
OMG VICTIM BLAMING!!!

But seriously, why shouldn't she post her wedding photos online? Lots of people do that. Someone shouldn't have to be scared to post their wedding photos because of internet bullies.

(Anonymous) 2013-08-26 11:35 pm (UTC)(link)
I wouldn't be posting my wedding pictures online. But then, I'm old enough to remember when every moment of your life didn't need to be publicly documented where several billion people could drop in to have a look-see.

*waves can at internet*

SA

CANE! Damnit, cane.

I'm too old to be shakin' my can at anybody.

Shake it, baby. I'm enjoying the show. :p

(Anonymous) 2013-08-27 04:35 pm (UTC)(link)
Mostly I agree, but weddings are supposed to be a spectacle and I can't blame people for being at least tempted to stick it on for all to see. After all, you're likely to be dolled up in an expensive dress that you'll probably only wear once (if only to avoid jinxing marriage number two), perfect make up and an equally dolled-up husband, if you're going to do it, that'd be the way.

I meant specifically tumblr. And you CAN post it there, but then you open yourself to criticism.

That's because it's a hive for SJW's.

There's plenty of ways to share your album in other ways than on tumblr.

(Anonymous) 2013-08-27 12:52 am (UTC)(link)
Harassment is waaaaay over the line of appropriate, of course, but if you post anything online where the wide, faceless can comment at will, it seems reasonable to me to be prepared for some of them to be not-positive about it.

(Anonymous) 2013-08-26 11:31 pm (UTC)(link)
Even if OP don't post their dress online, it would show up on Tumblr on one way or another :/

(Anonymous) 2013-08-26 11:41 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah, just because the bride doesn't post a picture doesn't mean one of the guest won't.

This just baffles me. My friends always ask if it's okay to post pics.

It's good of your friends to do so, but not everybody does, you know? Most of the time they don't mean any harm. Someone might still post it up on Facebook or whatever and in that case, the SJWs probably will find it.

On Facebook? I doubt it, unless their privacy settings suck. But on a blog or something...yeah.

(Ok, this is assuming none of their FB friends are SJW assholes. I guess there's no guarantee.)

(Anonymous) 2013-08-27 04:03 am (UTC)(link)
And this is assuming the people paid to be there like the coordinator, caterers, DJ, or any other people in the area wouldn't be the ones to do it.

All my friends are on Tumblr, so if I would want them to see my wedding photos, I would have to post them there. I can't email them because I don't have all their emails.

Re: (OP)

(Anonymous) 2013-08-27 04:48 am (UTC)(link)
Are they your actual friends, or are they people you know from tumblr? You can always ask for their e-mailaddresses.

(Anonymous) 2013-08-26 11:10 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah, this. :(
