Look, I don't think that anyone cares what you wear to a wedding - or halloween, or a convention, for that matter. No one will think you're a racist or a whitewasher or whatever and you certainly wouldn't be getting any death threats or hate mail over a *dress.* The only people that get hate mail over what they wear either do or say something stupid while wearing it.

After all, you're wearing it because you like the character - or at least the look of the dress. As long as you're not thinking (or saying) "This dress is beautiful, but it'd look better on me." or the equivalent of "Shame it's being worn by a black girl," no one is going to call you out for being racist.
