If you need convincing, it might not be the best idea. Sorry. But, nothing about the circumstances you posted makes me think it's a bad idea, as long as your cat got along with the new cat.

Your icon scares the crap out of me every time I see it. It makes me so uncomfortable that I don't even know your screen name because I never look at you long enough to find out. I just thought you should know. I don't expect you to change it, but it has been bothering me for weeks to come here and see that awful, awful icon.
