Hello, fs!

I've been at college for two months now. It's exhausting and stressful and my psychology lecturer is a little bit insane, but I'm enjoying myself! Being in an English-speaking environment for the first time in five years has made me begin to feel more comfortable with myself and with socialising, and I'm glad for that.

How are you all doing? Read/watched/listened to anything neat recently?

I've always wanted to see the full pic of this icon of yours, because I want to put my suspicions to rest that it's some kind of innerstreet Harry Potter.

Here you are! His name is actually Ponder Stibbons, and he's a wizard from another famous British fantasy series: Discworld. He was created a few years before Harry Potter, but fans still often cry plagiarism.

Another college goer here! And yeah, it's a little exhausting for the first few months but I'm glad you're enjoying yourself!

As for what's going on, I think just about a large minority of the comm is now hooked on Welcome to Night Vale. It's a strange radio show and it's surprisingly engaging for such a weird premise.

First few months?! You mean it gets better? I was here under the impression that it was going to get worse, haha. I think a large portion of fandom is getting into Night Vale, period. It's and oddly charming show.

That's interesting that you're now in an English-speaking environment. It makes me want to know where you are vs. where you were -- but of course, much respect if you demur!

Recently, I've watched a lot of Drunk History (which is frakking hilarious) and I've just started reading 'The Tyrant's Law,' which is the third installment of Daniel Abraham's The Dagger and The Coin series. The former makes me want to seek out records; the latter both excites and disappoints me, because I've fallen in love with the characters yet I wish there was more focus on the banking and on the character of Cithrin.

Oh it's fine. I was born in Ireland and when I was a kid my family moved to Malaysia and I suffered culture shock which made me a very anxious and nervous person. I never really got the hang of the language and culture, either. I'm still studying in Malaysia, but my college is largely Chinese-dominant, and I'm taking A-levels anyway, so I'm not struggling to communicate and understand anymore and I feel much better about making my existence known.

I looked up Drunk History and that sounds amazingly hilarious, I'll definitely be checking that out!
