I think when someone boasts this much about their pairing and their assuming that'll be/is the 'true' canon. I think they better be the ones to brace themselves for the inevitable disappointment. Though the same could be said for all pairings and shipping stuff, tbh.

I'm in a whole different fandom, mind, and fans went on raving that their OTP was endgame and canon and the usual useless dribble you hear. Years later, their ship crashed and burned when something came to light in the series. I was the one who sat back and enjoyed the cries of so much disappointment. It was the music God, himself, must listen to.
