(Anonymous) 2013-08-28 04:03 am (UTC)(link)Personally, when I was younger, it was really comforting to have older friends who had more experience than I did, but were still on my level and could give me advice or just sympathize when things went to shit. They gave me perspectives I couldn't get from my peers, and that was really awesome.
The thing is, the more you think about it, the bigger deal you're gonna make of it, and that's what's gonna make it weird. You're focused on numbers and not on the idea that they're just people who have the same interests you do and just like talking to you. Just ignore it and don't make a big deal out of it.

but you're right, the more i think about it the more it bothers me. it's not really the numbers that bother me personally, it's knowing that they probably bother other people. they've just stigmatised it for me now. i guess i shouldn't care what they think tho
