I don't know. People tend to get angry when you burn books. It's a heavily symbolic act, much more than just tossing stuff in a dumpster. Further, they decided it was tons of fun and took pictures. Again, it wasn't just books they thought were poorly written. It was books they disagreed with ideologically.

This is something people who are bad at arguing have been doing for a couple centuries.

I'm not defending Sarah Palin by any means. But if your friends ever try to pass themselves off as particularly enlightened, friends of free inquiry and all that, I hope someone digs up those twitter photos. They're happily descending to the level of the people they dislike.
