I'm more annoyed with GRRM because he goes on and on about how his characters are "his babies" , how he alone can write about them, how much he despises fanfiction (even though it's a form of love from fandom) and yet he's perfectly okay with the tv show changing and adding stuff that was not in the books, making it a live fanfiction. But he's making a ton of money off it, so I guess he doesn't care. He just doesn't like the fact that fanfiction does not bring him any money.

Yes, I am aware of that. (On a side note, what does he do? He writes one single episode per season.) The point is, he's still okay with the tv runners changing the story and screwing with the canon of his books, etc. because he gets paid for it. But fanfiction, which is perfectly harmless and does not make it into canon is totally forbidden. But does he get paid for it? No. And that's why he hates it so much, imo. Otherwise he would not be okay with the tv show, either.
