I always thought "surprise sex" meant the author didn't rate/tag the fic for sex

Now I'm horrified.

I'm pretty sure the phrase is old and didn't originate in fandom. And just so you know, "struggle snuggle" is another "cutesy" way of saying rape.

DA Yes it's not about fan fic, the other anon is right, it's an old phrase that just means rape basically.

There's this great documentary about the porn industry made by Louis Theroux, where he's filming a young woman (as in teen) being "auditioned" for a film, this is exactly what happens to the girl, done by the sleazy director, it's so awful I'll never forget it, and Louis Theroux is so disturbed by it as he's sitting in the room. I think it's a sort of casual rapist attitude by some of those men, this producer clearly thought nothing of it and I'm sure it happened with all of his auditions
