I... really don't think that's the original Hot Butter version that video is claiming is the original XD;; Although, I've never heard it described as a skating rink song and oh man that's kind of perfect.

Either way! I love Popcorn. BRB, listening to remixes for like an hour.

Hot Butter wasn't the original artist. Gershon Kingsley originally recorded it for Music to Moog By.

That's not Kingsley's either, though.

Understandable mistake, really, it's one of those songs that's been 'covered up'...I doubt one in ten people who know the song would know Kingsley did it first.

... Actually, I'm not sure even one in ten people who know it would know Hot Butter, so perhaps 'I doubt one in ten people who know Hot Butter would know Kingsley did it first'.
