Heh, my composition professor this semester told us to get an updated version of a textbook that I already have. Damn straight I didn't pay for the new one. I rent from Chegg for less than the cost of even one book, and check out valorebooks.com. I got a Geology text for 10$.

Also, see if your college library has a copy of the book you can rent for a few hours.
