Possible career choice (haven't decided if I'll serve my time and be done or stick with it yet), personal growth, desire to serve.

Payment isn't so bad imo, but I'm easy to please when it comes to wages. My career goal is to go into game design or public office, maybe state defense instead, idk. I'm all over the place. My ultimate dream is to work for NASA but my degree choices probably won't get me there. At this point I'd just like to graduate and move on. I'm sure I could find a job anywhere if I showed I had the knowledge for it, anyway.

So overall there's no primary reason for me wanting to serve, I guess. I was wanting to join the Air Force in a bid to get experience that would help me later on, but I'm okay serving in any branch now. I think it will do me good. That's all that really matters now I guess.

NASA will be wrapped up in a decade anyway. Private sector is taking over its role. It'll never return to manned spaceflight, that is for certain. It might survive as a bureaucratic oversight regulator, but that is best case scenario.

Yeah, cut funding is really doing wonders for that. :[
Which is a shame, because space is not only fascinating but also integral to our survival on this earth.
