"Scariest and most disturbing" is a superlative, not a criticism. Being really good at being disturbing and scary is a positive thing to say about a work. So it's a bit odd to say "It's really good but at the same time, it's absolutely brilliant."

So I agree with you (of course it's true; it was made by David Lynch) but it's an odd way to phrase it.

The scene where Leland/BOB attacks and kills Maddy is by far one of the scariest and most disturbing things I have ever seen in a TV series.

Yet it's absolutely brilliant at the same time.

Season 2 was a mess :(

I saw it when it aired. In 1991 that was the most shocking thing I'd *ever* seen, let alone on TV. It was ... wow. I've never rewatched it either, it was that disturbing.

I agree it is, but I think the scenes of Bob in "Fire Walk With Me" are scarier. In fact every so often the scene of him climbing in the window flashes into my head and I can't unsee it. I don't feel as post traumatic about the Maddy scene, but it was horrible, I wouldn't choose to rewatch.

weird that this comes up just as I'm finally getting around to watching this series. A lot of the soap opera stuff is such an awful slog, and then suddenly there's something amazingly disturbing like that scene.
