Fandoms with great emotional impact (probably spoilers, possibly triggers in here)

Did you ever have a fandom (any kind, game, movie, series, book, you name it) which really affected you deeply? Either in a positive or a negative way?

Personally, I am easily moved by a lot of things but it doesn't necessarily affect me for a long time. But then I played Persona 3 and I got the big ending spoiler. I already was in a mildly depressed state at that time, so the game probably wasn't the only factor in this, but it somehow hit me really hard. I haven't managed to play the end of that game after that and I don't plan to for fear of dropping into that ugly black hole again.

Sad Stuff:
Season 4 of Doctor Who, especially anything involving Donna.
Requiem for a Dream and Schindler's List (but those are a given).
The Fall hit me A LOT harder than I thought it would. I don't know why either.
World of Goo. The same with The Fall, I have no idea why it made me so sad.
Robert Cormier's books hit me hard.

Happy Stuff:
Lion King. Always, Lion King.
The Marvel movies make me really happy. :3
Fanfiction in general makes me happy (I never read Downer endings).

when I read the subject line, I immediately thought of persona 3 too, haha. I fortunately wasn't spoiled for the ending, but it did hit me pretty hard and I cried whenever I heard the ending song play. also p. much cried my way entirely though the answer. I was also unable to play anything but P3 for a couple months, and eventually I had to force myself to "move on" to something else. needless to say it's my favorite game, but yeah, I haven't beaten it since then.

First that had any sort of effect on me this way? Final Fantasy VI. Persona 3 kind of did this to me too after the end, and so did Xenogears. More recently, Mass Effect. That took a long time to get over. :(

Most recently, Mass Effect. Both positive and negative, I suppose. The series in general was an emotional rollercoaster, but especially Rannoch... I don't think I'm ever going to get over Rannoch.

One Piece has a tendency to repeatedly punch me in the feels, ngl. It's a pretty good mix of sad and happy, though.

This is weird, but things where a character has to leave everyone behind at the end really, really get to me. I struggle to watch LotR and even Dragon Ball without getting ridiculously upset.

The finale for Babylon 5 still makes me cry.

shit, what was that short film that was created as a demonstration of some new game engine? The character was an android named Kara, I think...it was like five minutes set in one room with fwo characters and it was BRILLIANT. I cry every freakin time.
