Yeah, I don't get that either. How is being adult a privilege?

Children don't have all the same rights as adults and when young they are physically smaller and weaker, so I get that being an adult is an advantage. However, everyone has to go through childhood to get to adulthood and being a child is a condition that eventually goes away if you wait long enough. Being a child is not at all the same thing as being an ethnic minority or being disabled.
