This x100. In fact, I'm surprised more fans of the show don't realize this. A major theme of the show is "family first". The Bluths lives revolve around each other (in both good and bad ways). They might be horrible people who treat others' awfully, commit crimes, and are generally selfish and mean. But they themselves a tight-knit group.

And their actions speak louder than words. Lucille says she doesn't care for Gob, yet she was the one who sat with him in hospital when he was stabbed. Gob's entire character revolves around his need to be accepted by his family, especially his father and Michael. Lucille and Buster are inseparable (which is both sweet...and horribly horribly creepy). Oscar loves them all. Lindsay and Toias' marriage is constantly on the rocks yet they always come back to each other. And Michael's strongest connection is the one to his son - and his lowest point in the show isn't whoring himself out for money, it isn't his failed business, it isn't seeing his life fall apart. It's the punch he gets from his son at the end of season 4.

"FAMILY LOVE MICHAEL!"
