I'm always worried about checking mine too, but usually I have nothing to worry about. Irrational fear, yayyyyy.

But yep, you aren't alone. (Plus, even if the response isn't what you had hoped for, it isn't the end of the world. At least you got it off your chest.)

I try to remind myself that a lot of the nastier comments - there's a difference between negative and nasty negative imho - are probably bored trolls or just bored users, frustrated/bored and taking it out on fandom things. It annoys me even more when people obviously just miss the point because something gets them defensive, but that's everywhere.

Also what amuses me is when someone assumes your opinion is out of some kind of desperation or defensiveness.

Like once on another site some person called me a "landwhale" when I disagreed with him / her and revealed I was actually female.

I had many laughs.

I usually hate to read the comments on the secrets that I've posted. It's usually something negative that will bring me down. I just really need a place to post stuff that I can never tell anyone or put on tumblr, because the trolls jump on stuff quickly over there. And to be honest, over here.

Even so, I enjoy reading through the day's secrets, because I always have a laugh or I can relate. [outline of a read heart symbol]

IDGAF about negative responses to content since you need to take into consideration that some people are doing it just for the sake of trolling, but I'm always hurt and confused if someone criticizes the design, ie. artistic quality of my secret ;)

I never read the comments on my secrets because of this. I have no problem reading through the comments on everyone else's secrets though.

Start a diary OP. The world including the internet is a cruel cold place and if you are going to share you deepest secrets you have to be prepared to have someone say something. A diary will let you say whatever you want without the worry of someone bringing you down.
