I'd be bored. I can read 200,000 words of epic interaction and not care if the sex never happens, but if they haven't met 10,000 words in, I'd be mostly wondering if you'd mislabeled your story.

Maybe, maybe not. Again, we're working on the vaguest knowledge here, but I saw you say up-thread that it was backstory and some sort of climax? So long as you break it up properly and don't tag it romance, it's probably okay.
