Re: How did you start writing fic?

(Anonymous) 2013-09-01 03:52 am (UTC)(link)
I was 19 when I wrote my first fic. I'm 32 now. My first fic was a multichaptered shippy over the top fic (It's not in English, so I don't see the point of sharing).
I write once or twice a week, I'd like to do it more, but Real Life usually prevents me from doing so.
While reading kink memes can be useful for inspiration, usually I don't need them for plotbunnies, which usually just pop in my mind like... well, like rabbits. Headcanon discussions are also great for new and fascinating ideas.
I prefer shorter works. After writing two long fics, I got tired of the pressure. Now I just write oneshots, because I don't have as much free time as I used to.
I can't for the life of me be multifandom, so I usually write for just one until my obsession fades (although my obsession lasts for years, usually).
There had been some ideas I don't actually have the guts to write, mainly because sometimes an idea is too precious too me, and I prefer to keep it for myself, usually because I don't want people to say they don't like it. I'm a coward, I admit it.
(pssst, also, the word is cojones, otherwise, you're saying you don't have the drawers to write, which I guess is not the mental image you want to convey)
