Don't read it, watch it
(Anonymous) 2013-09-01 10:22 am (UTC)(link)My favourite thing to do is watch different versions of my preferred plays, and how well they translate to different settings. E.g Baz Luhrman's Romeo & Juliet is one of the best interpretations I've seen and really hilights how this story is a genuine Tragedy - if any one of a hundred things had happened differently, there would have been a Happy Ending. Or 10 Things I Hate About You as a translation of Taming of the Shrew.
There's lots to find in Shakespeare, but you won't find it by reading the dry text.
