There are a few things to remember when reading Shakespeare. First it was not meant to be read by the masses, it was meant to be heard. So try reading it out loud. Two Elizabethan people had just as dirty a mind as any modern person and Shakespeare knew that! In other words there are sections (especially in the comedies) which basically boil down to a series of dick jokes. There is an exchange between the brothers in As You Like it which at the core is the two of them going "You're a dick." "No You're a dick."
