Re: How did you start writing fic?
I'd never even heard of fanfiction until I was 41 and I wrote my first story not long after because I couldn't find what I wanted to read anywhere. I can't say it's a work of art, but hey, it was a story and I posted it. Go me. :)
I write when the mood strikes. I've found I produce crap otherwise. I have no problem coming up with ideas and have a list of close to a dozen stories I hope to write, assuming I find both the time and the inclination.
It would be so exciting if I could write shorter works (100-3000 words), but I think in long, plotty arcs so it's usually a miracle if I come up with something shorter than 10K words. My longest finished fic is over 225K.
As I've said in other places, I'm an OTP girl. I have one pairing and one fandom at a time. So far, I've played in the LotR, RPG and HP fandoms, assuming RPG is a fandom.
