Why would you bring up Riku? I'm still not over that and it's been how many years since the show aired?

In other news, I liked the show ('cept for Riku's end) and you didn't. No big. *shrug*

I felt like the show was dragged out too much overall, but in general I enjoyed watching it.

As for Saya, I liked her more before she developed that "stay away from me i must do this alone" stick in the last arc, mostly because it was so painfully obvious that she would change her mind and I hate this type of back-and-forth drama. It's as tedious as misunderstanding subplots in romance.

I'm not familiar with the fandom, but I lol'd at the "I must fight!"-"I can't fight!"-"I must fight!" scheme. It is so true of so many characters, quite of few of whom I even like.

[Picture is Saya Otonashi from the anime "Blood+". She is a young woman with pale skin, red eyes, and short dark hair. She is splashed with blood on one side of the face and looking serious.]

I know this show's pretty popular, and I forced myself to watch about twenty episodes, but I just couldn't put up with Saya. "I must fight!" "I can't fight" "I must fight!" "I can't fight!" "Oops, I accidentally killed a bunch of people on my side, but now I can fight!" "No, wait, I can't fight after all!" Even Shinji Ikari had more guts than this.

Bonus secret: The only reason I completely gave up on it was that I read the spoilers about what happens to Riku. That's too much even for a show like this.

Yeaaah, I felt the same way. Just add me also not caring enough for Haji. Actually, the only reason I kept watching was because the rest of the cast was interesting to me.

Is it, though? Is Blood+ actually "pretty popular?"

I'm not saying you're wrong, but hell even when it was coming out initially I felt like one of the only one amongst my online friends even watching it. And I never see it get talked about anywhere. So if it's popular, I'd sure like to know where!!!!

(also yeah I never finished watching it either because the plot got to be way too incredibly dumb for me somewhere during the second half of its run)

There are some fanarts in english speaking part of the fandom, that's enough to deem it pretty popular by anime standard.

Exactly, I felt very lonely in my corner while watching it. If it's hugely popular in online fandom it would be Japanese fandom only.

I can't finish the series for that reason. She's an awful main character.

Trufax. I was really into the concept for the first, oh, five episodes, and I kept expecting her to become the stone cold badass she was in other versions of Blood, but she never really developed at all.

I did skip around in the later eps to see if she ever hooked up with Haji, because the Chevaliers were kind of a cool addition, but meh.

This show bored me to tears. I remember one of my friends loved it.

That said, poor poor Riku.

I'm still pretty sure CLAMP did a worse job with the series.

But yeah, still not over Riku.
