sneaking in later

but my birthday is next wed and i'm getting anxious because there's.....i don't want to run around yelling ITS MY BIRTHDAY so people know, but i also want to know if people care and i both want to do something and not do something, and i hope i get presents because my folks don't buy them for me anymore but i don't think i'm close enough to anyone that i can expect any presents
i'm very :( about it all. birthdays* are confusing/upsetting for me


*and christmas. basically gift related ones where people are ?meant? to show they care with presents but then people dont?

Aw, I'm sorry anon. I know how you feel about wanting people to remember but not wanting to remind them. It's ok to say something once as a little reminder, though. I always appreciate it when my friends do that because I can never remember when their birthdays are but I do want to wish them a happy birthday and at least send a card.

That sucks - the 'folks not buying' thing. Can I ask how old you are? Only because my 30th is in two months and my parents already started the, "What do you want for your birthday?!" stuff when I was at their place on saturday. XD

The only problem is, I can't think of anything I really need. I am thinking of asking for a Keurig type thing. They have one and I just found out it does tea and hot chocolate and not just coffee (which I don't drink), so it'd be good for me, since I live alone.

my folks stop giving presents when you turn 21. kinda odd i know, but I am one of 8 kids so...still get xmas presents, I'm pretty content just to get clothes and a card or novelty socks or whatever.

Aww... yeah I'm only one of two. XD But hopefully they still celebrate it even if there's no gift giving? :/ Even with just a cake and a card or something?

I dunno, I like giving gifts so even though my parents are always, "No we don't need anything!" I still try and find a book or even just a restaurant gift certificate or something to give them.
