(Anonymous) 2013-09-03 01:32 am (UTC)(link)Except it isn't a fact. In one of my stories I have an OC that shows up in a third chapter. He is kind of a jackass. The canon characters recognize this fact and thus do not like him. Hell I even acknowledge he's a real jerk and can be hard to like.. It is possible.
After all if it is a fact that a writer is unable to separate themselves from their OCs in fanfiction , what about original fiction. If that were true than we'd have a bunch of literature full of Wesley's and Author's Darlings. A good writer can separate themselves from the OC.
