But the OP didn't say "I find yuri fanfic boring." She said "I find lesbians boring." That's not a portrayal in fandom, that's... that's an entire group of people, an entire subculture, which has nothing to do with whether or not she reads boring fanfic.

It's not even yuri fanfic she finds boring, in your scenario: it's bad fanfic writers, and there are plenty of those writing for everything. Yeah, sure, the guys have more humor and more punching things in the anime, but, uh, in 99% of yaoi fanfic, all they do is sit around and cuddle and/or rape each other. I went to a yaoi community just now and the first thing on there was a fic about how X wakes up in the middle of the night and Y pets him, and X gets blushy because Y is saying sweet things, and then Y gives him a ring and X is so happy. D:

That's 90% of all pairing fic -- regardless of orientation of main characters. There's no mysterious gender barrier that makes pairings with too many X chromosomes less interesting; all pairings are equally interesting until ruined by idiots.

I really can't respect anyone who just says stupid shit like "I find lesbians boring."

Lesbians find you boring too, OP!

True, the OP looks that way, and if they meant what they said, I strongly disagree (because, well, it seems daft). However, given that they then refer to two fandom (?) pairings, I was wondering if perhaps they meant lesbians in fanfiction and weren't specific enough. The way they phrased it makes that seem unlikely, though...
