14. c&p'd from my other comment-- There are fundamental differences in your fandom and mine, though. In SW fandom, it's not like 75% of the fans watched only the prequels and then based their entire characterizations of the original trilogy cast on what they saw in the prequels and what they read on Wikipedia. Beyond that, the prequels were just that -- prequels. Any character assassination or inconsistency can be explained by the generation gap in the two movies. In FFVII fandom? Two years pass, and everything gets fuck all retarded.

So while I would like to agree that why don't we all just get along, it's rather hard when by far the vast majority of the creative output of the fandom is based either solely or at least partially on Comp. interpretation.
