You are right, Callie is horrible OP. My dad and I were both hoping the whole Atlanta arc was to get rid of her and were HORRIBLY disappointed when she came back. She's made Jim a lovesick puppy and I cringe whenever they are in a scene together, hell when she is on screen period. Plus, for wanting to be a doctor, she sure has A LOT of ethic issues. I don't see why everyone thinks she is the BEST THING EVER!!!

On a side note, since I have no one to talk about this show with >_>, did anyone else think the whole aside with Jim's parents kind of pointless?

*raises hand* I did!

I mean on one hand it was kind of neat to meet Jim's parents but the whole little subplot about them? Kind of pointless. I honestly expected, when the Dad showed up, that he was going to be caught up somehow in one of Jim's cases and that never happened XD

[Picture is two screen-captures side by side of the TV show "The Glades". The first one shows Jim Longworth and Callie Cargill looking at each other, standing close, sand in the other Jim and Sam are kissing at an outdoors restaurant table near the sea. Jim has light olive skin and short dark hair. He is wearing a dark shirt in both pictures. Callie has light skin, long dark blonde or light brown hair and a red shirt or dress. Sam has olive skin, medium or long brown hair and is wearing a pink-purple sleeveless blouse.]

I can't stand the Jim/Callie couple. They have no chemistry, and Callie's a whiny, jealous, shrill nag. Jim/Sam, on the other hand, was awesome - they played off each other well, and the show felt... well... fun again.

Secret because: Nobody even watches this show, and the ones who do are fans of Callie/Jim.

Bonus secret: The Kia product placement is just gross. The show is now essentially an infomercial!

I really dislike Callie.

I'm with the previous poster about thinking the whole Atlanta arc was them pulling Callie and Jim apart. What with Callie deciding she wants to be an unattached and independent woman I thought she was going to turn Jim's proposal flat down so imagine my surprise when she accepts and decides to stay to get married.

I just can't stand Jim, which sucks because he's the protagonist. I ship Callie/anyone else.

You immediately lost whatever point you had when you used stereotypically misogynistic insults for her. I have never seen these combined together on a man. :/

Obligatory damn the network for canceling with such a big damn cliffhanger.

I am so glad I wasn't too heavily into the show yet. If they do that to Longmire next year I think I'll flip my shit.

...whiny, shrill nag?

Are you shitting me? Are you even watching the show?

Dude, she's not perfect, but those words are not accurate descriptions.

Icky vaginas getting in the way of my manship! Slashers aren't misogynistic at all, no sir.

(Anonymous) 2013-09-04 07:10 am (UTC)(link)
Why are you bringing slashers into this?

There's nothing in the secret to imply that OP is a slasher.

Sam is a woman. She's no longer on the show (and the show itself is no longer) but she was a female character.

I like Jim/Callie, but there were points during seasons 2 and 3 where Callie really drove me batty, so I can understand your frustrations.

Really I'm only here to comment because I'm excited to see a The Glades secret. I'm also here hoping to find other people to commiserate with knowing that it was canceled because I haven't watched the finale, but I found out about it's cancellation yesterday.
