[The Killing (AMC)]

I think Holder probably on the most part doesn't have romantic feelings for Linden, but he probably wonders every now and then, "What if?".

But to be honest, I would probably get really angry if they hook up.

Eh, what about the kiss then?

[Picture is detectives Stephen Holder, as portrayed by Joel Kinnaman, and Sarah Linden, as portrayed by Mireille Enos, from the TV show "The Killing", airing on the American channel "AMC". Holder has light skin, short dark hair and a mustache. He is wearing a light T-shirt, a gray sweatshirt and a dark jacket. He is listing the cover of a book/trunk of a car, looking grimly at its contents (the camera is placed as though inside the car, so they're both looking at the camera). Linden has pale skin, red hair slicked back and is wearing a light shirt or blouse and a dark jacket over it. She is leaning to the side and looking in, with a flashlight in hand.]

I think Holder actually has romantic feelings for Linden in canon. I feel embarrassed by how hard I ship them.

I know romance isn't the point of the show. I love the plotlines and the characters (Bullet!), too. I just really want them to kiss and do other shippy stuff.

I'm rrrreeeaaalllyyy torn on this one.

On the one hand, I absolutely love their relationship as it stands. I love that she rebuffed his one little misguided attempt and that they were able to joke about it after. There's such a depth to those characters and they're both so broken and need each other in such different ways. I love that they they 'get' each other so deeply without things being romantic in any way. Ugh, their platonic hurt/comfort is so visceral and awesome.

On the other hand? I know I'd be all over it if they did end up falling into bed together. I think they could both fix each other and smooth over each other's rough patches. Not that they'd NEED to have sex for that to happen, but OMG I just think it would be so desperate and hot and primal... They could both use each other for what they need without the guilt that would come with getting that elsewhere.

It's possible I have too many thoughts about this. I've never been so torn over the 'to ship or not' question...

I'm re-watching the first season now (it seems I can't continue the second season after the first episode, I have to find a way around my emotional hangups), and I think they have a very subtle (and very well-written) UST, but it's been completely overshadowed that emotional need they refuse to acknowledge... yet.
I adore them being platonic, I adore them being brOTP, I adore them being anything... I still don't know how would I react if they hook up in canon. I've tried to search for fic, and none of them did remotely work for me.

NGL, I ship them like burning.
